More and more municipalities have introduced a split wastewater fee. This means that all metered households are rated according to the paved (compacted) area. To avoid billing in terms of the paved area, an option is provided to provide seepage for rainwater draining from paved areas. This has the benefit of saving costs through seepage. As the costs are frequently 2 € per year/per m2 paved area, investment in a seepage system pays itself off relatively quickly.
